The first “First and Furious” came out in 2001 - Gibson, 42, didn’t appear until the second film, “2 Fast 2 Furious,” in 2003 - so the cast and audiences have grown up with each other. The 105,389-square-foot multiplex features the immersive RPX, 4DX and ScreenX auditoriums, a smoothie and juice bar called B-Fresh, a Lavazza coffee shop, a full-service bar, an arcade and six smaller VIP auditoriums where - for $10 over regular admission - guests get luxury recliners, unlimited popcorn and soft drinks and, ultimately, will also have access to different food options. The film opens there for its regular run June 24. He spent a fair amount of time posting on Instagram and, unsurprisingly, he also had lots of nice things to say about the new theater, which was set to screen “F9” later in the evening.
